[Speaking] ☆ Job Interview 012 - What did you like least about your last job? ☆

 "Back to the Basics = 기본[원점, 초심]으로 돌아가다"

누구에게나 기회는 찾아옵니다. 하지만, 주어진 기회를 최대한 유리하게 활용하는 것은
오직 준비된 자에게만 주어지는 보상입니다. 그게 면접이든 무엇인든 늘 초심을 잃지 않고
삶의 매 순간을 "일기일회(一期一會 / 단 한 번의 기회, 단 한 번의 만남)"로 여긴다면
여러분은 이미 충분한 보상을 받은 삶을 살게 될 것입니다.

1. Dress appropriately = 적합한 의상의 착용
2. Arrive in good time = 시간에 맞춰 일찍 도착

A. Effective Action Verbs
면접에서 중요한 것은 영향력이 있는 행동으로 나타난 효과적인 동사의 적절한 사용입니다.
두루뭉술하고 구체적이지 못한 통상적인 표준문구와 같은 답은 피하셔야 합니다.

1. commend = 추천하다, 권하다; (특히 공개적으로) 칭찬하다
Commended at project's end and identified as invaluable contributor who provides "insight, clarity, and definition."

2. communicate = 연락을 주고받다, 의사소통을 하다; (정보 등을) 전달하다
Communicated consistently and proactively with team members via phone and e-mail between meetings,
coordinated meeting notes, and helped team members with individual work plans.

3. complete = 완료하다, 끝마치다
Completed successful name change and followed up by developing new branding platform, logo, and tagline
that accurately captures and identities organization's personality, values, and objectives and will articulate its
mission and package it for savvy, heavily pitched funding audience.

B. 인터뷰 필수 표현
누구나 다 알고 사용하는 말이지만, 누구나 쉽게 그 표현을 하지는 못합니다.
주어진 시간 안에 적절한 경구(警句) 또는 간단명료한 표현을 통한 의사 전달이 매우 중요합니다.

C. 핵심 Q&A

012 - What did you like least about your last job?

TIPS: When responding to this seemingly loaded question, it’s vital that your answer shows your character
and ability to stay cool under pressure by highlighting the following things.
* Always stay tactful and respectful when mentioning your prior superiors, even if you feel like you have
nothing nice to say.
* Stay task-oriented when mentioning dislikes about a previous position.
* Turn your previous job aversions into something positive.
* Make sure you lead your answer with a confident and optimistic phrase before offering your distaste
for a task at your prior company.

BEST ANSWER: With this tough question, don’t fall into the trap that many interviewers do and
avoid these common mistakes.
* Don’t get into the company politics pitfall and exhibit a flair for office drama.
* Do not answer in a way that makes you seem like you are set in your ways and opinions.
* Don’t turn this question into a boss-bashing session, even if it seems like that’s what your interviewer
is asking you for.
* Try not to mention a dislike for something that is common at the company that you are interviewing for.

(1) My last role had many positives and I liked my work and the people I worked with in my role. Perhaps the one area that I disliked was the lack of use of the latest technology. We were limited in what we could do competitively, since we did not have access to the latest tools and technology. So this is an important part of why I am looking to make a move. Can you tell me about the tools and technology you provide for this role?

(2) I found that there was no more scope of career growth in the company after reaching a certain level. The company had a stagnant point where they would simply retain employees without continuing to develop their potential in order to move the company forward.

(3) I really liked everything about the job. The reason I want to leave it is to find a position where I can make a greater contribution. You see, I worked for a large company that encourages specialisation of skills. The smaller environment you have here will, allow me to contribute far more in different areas.

(4) One of the reasons I am leaving is that I felt I was not challenged enough at the job. As a new employee in the working world, the company offers a great opportunity for a good entry level position. However, after being there for so many years, I felt I was not able to reach my full potential because of the lack of challenge and there was no room for advancement in the company. While I did enjoy working there and appreciate the skills I developed while with the company, I feel my skill set can be better utilized elsewhere, where my capabilities are more recognized and there is the opportunity for growth.

(5) Through my experience there, I learned a lot about different management styles, and strategies for maintaining cooperation in a large group project setting. I feel that as valuable as that experience has been, I am anxious to work on more specialized projects where I will have the opportunity to be more of a leader.

(6) While the people at XYZ Company were terrific to work with, I felt that the opportunities for me there were limited by the structure and size of the company. I believe that a larger company with an international presence can offer challenges, as well as opportunities unavailable at a smaller firm. The position with your company is a great match for my skill set, and I feel that I would be an asset in your marketing (or HR or IT) department.

(1) The people I worked with at ABC Company were top notch at what they do.

(2) I work for a small company and don't get the time to specialize in one or two major areas.

(3) I enjoyed the people I worked with. It was a friendly and fun atmosphere and I actually enjoyed going into work each morning.

(4) I felt the leadership team was great as well. They knew all of their employees on a first name basis and tried to make those personal connections. I also enjoyed that fact that the office tried to do community outreach with local organizations.

(5) I really enjoyed working for my previous company and appreciated the great people and overall atmosphere. As my time in that position drew to a close, I gave this question a lot of thought. With my great love for working as a team, it was difficult to work away from the rest of the company which was all located out of state. I’m looking forward to collaborating and working together with friends and colleagues again.

(6) I liked the professional attitude and the workplace environment that was provided to me. Another thing I liked was the close knit and interpersonal communications that were prevalent between managers and employees. The company also believed in their employees and seemed to really think about my future growth and professional progress.
